When a local tour company bought its first home in Abisko, it wasn’t meant to be anything more than a place for their guides to rest during the busy aurora season. But when the pandemic shifted the way people traveled, the home evolved into a safe, private refuge where visitors could still enjoy the magic of the Northern Lights and the raw beauty of Swedish Lapland.
From that unexpected beginning, Accommodation in Abisko was born. Today, our mission is simple: to give travelers a place that feels like home in the Arctic, whether they’re here for adventure, relaxation, or both.
Each of our properties offers its own character, but all are designed with comfort and convenience in mind, plus easy access to Abisko’s stunning wilderness.
Spacious, warm, and welcoming, this fully private home is perfect for families or groups of friends. With three bedrooms, a large living room, and a private sauna, it’s a true home-away-from-home. Guests can cook meals in the fully equipped kitchen, relax in front of the flatscreen TV, or simply step outside to admire the mountain views. In winter, you might catch the aurora dancing right from the doorstep; in summer, the midnight sun keeps the landscape glowing long into the night.

Living up to its name, the Panorama House is all about the views. Perched with sweeping vistas of Lake Torneträsk and the surrounding mountains, this house offers two bedrooms, a spacious kitchen, and a wrap-around balcony that makes it easy to enjoy the northern lights or the golden glow of the Arctic summer. It’s private, comfortable, and perfectly placed for guests who want to stay close to nature while enjoying all the essentials.

Simple, social, and affordable, the Hostel is a great base for budget-conscious travelers. Open between April and October, with four private twin rooms, communal kitchen and bathrooms, and a cozy living room, it has everything you need for a comfortable stay. Its central location in Abisko village makes it easy to reach the shop, train station, or trails into the national park. And the best part? It’s the perfect spot to meet fellow adventurers from around the world.

Abisko is a place like no other. From the crisp Arctic air and snow-covered mountains in winter to the endless daylight of summer, every season brings something extraordinary. Known worldwide as one of the best places to see the Northern Lights, Abisko also offers incredible hiking, skiing, and wildlife encounters. Staying here means waking up surrounded by some of Sweden’s most dramatic landscapes and having adventure right at your doorstep.
What started as one house has grown into three unique properties, each crafted to give our guests a cozy, welcoming space in the heart of Swedish Lapland. But this is only the beginning. As Accommodation in Abisko grows, our vision is to keep improving the spaces that let travelers feel at home. All while staying connected to the wild beauty that makes this destination so special.
If you’re planning to visit Abisko between October and March for a once-in-a-lifetime Northern Lights holiday, we warmly recommend our partner, Lights Over Lapland. This locally owned tour company offers exclusive northern lights holidays, all based in one of our vacation homes. Their team and expertise are unmatched and they have the reviews to prove it! Because here in Abisko, it’s not just about where you stay, it’s about how you experience it.
