Most of our visitors take the 18 hour direct night train from Stockholm central all the way to Abisko. This is a fantastic way to see more of Sweden and keep your carbon footprint to a minimum!
There are two train stops in Abisko so make sure to get off at the correct stop, “Abisko Ö” which is located in the village of Abisko, just a few minute walk from our properties. Train tickets usually become bookable 90 days in advance. Please be aware that delays sometimes happen, mostly during cold winter months. In extreme cases, trains can be cancelled or replaced by buses for certain stretches of the journey.
If you are staying at the Lovely House in Abisko (Kalle Jons väg 13), Abisko Panorama House, or Abisko Hostel (Kalle Jons väg 9), the walk from the train station is short and straightforward. The walk is approximately 400 – 500 meters and takes 5 – 10 minutes at a relaxed pace. This walk is short, scenic, and very typical for travel in northern Sweden.
The drive from Narvik to Abisko is very beautiful. It is approximately 85 km and usually takes around 1 – 1.5 hours, depending on road and weather conditions.
Please note that during winter, the mountain pass between Narvik and Abisko can close suddenly due to extreme weather conditions such as heavy snow or strong winds.

The drive from Kiruna to Abisko is scenic and straightforward. It is approximately 100 km and usually takes around 1.5 – 2 hours, depending on road and weather conditions.

A lot of our international guests arrive by air from all over the world. From Stockholm (ARN) you can catch a 1,5 hour domestic flight to Kiruna (KRN). You can then travel the final 100km to Abisko by rental car, bus or train. The airlines that fly between Stockholm and Kiruna are SAS and Norweigan.
Between April and September you can catch the local bus number 91 from Kiruna to Abisko. You can book your tickets and check the timetable at Länstrafiken Norrbottens website. Please book your ticket to Abisko.
For airport transfer between December and March, we recommend that you book a transfer with Abisko’s local bus company, Visit Abisko. Visit Abisko has been providing airport transfers between Kiruna and Abisko to guests from all over the world for close to ten years now and is the only fully licensed and insured bus company in Abisko National Park. Transfers are available at www.visitabisko.com and connect with lunch time flights.
