Preparing for a Busy Summer in Abisko

While many people associate Abisko with winter and the northern lights, some of our favorite months of the year are actually in spring and summer.

As the snow melts and the Midnight Sun returns, Abisko transforms into a destination filled with hiking, photography, wildlife, and endless opportunities to enjoy the outdoors. Before welcoming guests for another busy summer season, we’ve been spending time refreshing and improving our properties to ensure they’re ready for the months ahead.

A Fresh Start for a New Season

After a long Arctic winter, every property benefits from a little extra attention.

Over the past few weeks, we’ve been busy preparing the Abisko Hostel, Abisko Panorama House, and Lovely House in Abisko for the arrival of hikers, photographers, road trippers, and nature enthusiasts.

From replacing worn bedding to deep cleaning rooms and common areas, we’ve focused on the details that help make a stay more comfortable and enjoyable.

Making the Outdoors Shine

Summer in Abisko is all about spending time outdoors, and we know that the spaces surrounding our properties play an important role in the overall guest experience. Guests can start the day with a coffee on the deck of the Panorama House, head out on a hike, unwind in the evening sunshine, or simply pause to enjoy the mountain views from the property.

To help keep them looking their best, we’ve been trimming bushes, removing weeds, and tidying the grounds around all three properties. It’s a project that continues throughout the summer, as the combination of long days and the Midnight Sun keeps everything growing at an impressive pace.

The Best Views Deserve Clean Windows

One thing all of our properties have in common is their incredible location.

To help showcase the landscapes that make Abisko so special, we’ve given the windows throughout our properties a thorough cleaning. From the mountains surrounding the village to the shores of Lake Torneträsk, the views are a big part of the experience here. Clean windows ensure guests can fully enjoy the scenery from the comfort of their room, the dining table, or the living room sofa.

Creating a More Welcoming Atmosphere

We’ve also spent time adding a few decorative touches to the Abisko Hostel.

Small improvements can go a long way in making a space feel warm, inviting, and comfortable after a day spent exploring the national park.

Our goal has always been to create accommodation that feels relaxed, welcoming, and perfectly suited to the unique pace of life in the Arctic.

Ready for Summer Adventures

The goal of our preparations and cleaning is to ensure your accommodation is a comfortable and welcoming space to return to after each day.

We’re constantly investing in our properties and looking for ways to improve the guest experience. Earlier this year we completed a bathroom renovation at the Lovely House in Abisko, and throughout the year we continue making upgrades both large and small across all of our accommodations.

There is always more work to do, but we’re excited for the season ahead and look forward to welcoming guests from around the world to Abisko once again.
